The tranquil and nurturing setting of Las Viñas near to the little town of Feria creates the perfect space for you to embark on a journey of rest and discovery amidst beautiful Extremadura countryside.
Here life moves at a different pace. You can still see donkeys carrying their loads through narrow stone streets, farmers taking their animals to fields or locals stop at the village bar for a coffee and tostada before heading home for a siesta.

And that's just the way they like it.

A car is perfect for getting to see everything and you may find the odd traffic jam of sheep. Yes there's lots here that most tourists never discover which means you'll be sharing it with real local people.

We left London for a different life so Las Viñas started with a feeling. A feeling that there must be another way to live.
We weren't sure what our new home would look like but we knew we wanted more space, more nature and much more Freedom. A desire for a simpler, self-sufficient way of life led us here, deep in the heart of the Spanish countryside in Extremadura.
...And we haven't regretted it for a moment.

Staying at Las Viñas
So, who are we?​
We're Giovanna and Noel and between us, we've had a lot of different lives. There's been art, music, writing, therapy, design, performance, teaching, traveling, farming and more than a few unexpected adventures along the way.
Perhaps that's why Las Viñas has ended up rather different?
​​
It started with feelings which became actions and our enthusiasm has kept everything running ever since.
​
Music has been part of Noel's life for as long as he can remember, performing and recording alongside his work in therapy and sound healing which involved a BBC recording made in a Vegan restaurant on a converted London double-decker bus.
​​
Life has a funny way of connecting unrelated things. Music becomes relaxation, becomes therapy and becomes part of life at Las Viñas. With the quiet of the countryside providing the perfect backdrop to explore it all.
A Different Kind of Escape
For Giovanna, creativity and well-being aren't separate things.
Sometimes making something, being surrounded by nature or simply having time to yourself can be just as restorative as anything else.
And sometimes the best ideas arrive when you're sitting beneath an olive tree doing... nothing.
​
Her creative life began with art (which she has exhibited) and writing. As a small girl she recorded her musings in diaries we hold precious even now and we're currently celebrating the publication of her seventh novel. Her storytelling flourished in her role as a puppeteer for private parties and then she trained also in a range of therapeutic practices which became another important part of life at Las Viñas.
Las Viñas has become a working part of our lives.
There are olive trees from which Noel makes Organic Virgin oil each year and fruit and nut trees giving almonds and walnuts. There's also vegetables, chickens, wildlife and all the things that come with living on this piece of countryside.

It's not always easy. But it is always real.
(Sometimes it feels like it's the only thing that IS real.)

A place to share.
At first, Las Viñas was simply our home.
But gradually we realised that the things we loved about living here were exactly the things other people were looking for.​
​
Peace Space Nature
A chance to slow down
A place to think.

Somewhere away from the noise and routines of everyday life.​
So we started to welcome guests.
And that's what Las Viñas is today.
Not a resort or even a hotel.
Certainly not a perfectly polished tourist experience.

Just our little corner of rural Spain, which are what we're happy to share with people who like the same things we do.
Getting Here
Deep in the rural Countryside of Extremadura is the pretty little town of Feria, nestled on the side of a hill under a completely renovated and beautiful Arabic Castle. You can get amazing views for miles from here (and the town) and you'll discover that shops can appear inside peoples homes while Bars are scattered around the heart of the town by the ancient church of San Bartolomé. Surrounding the town is farmland and many people own 'Campos' where they grow Olives, Nuts and Vegetables and that's where we live, on a Campo about 10 mins drive from Feria town.
There are trains and buses from the nearest international airport which is Sevilla (about 160 kms from here) to Zafra (our nearest City - 16 kms from here). You will find that having a car is very useful to explore the area once you arrive but we can arrange our local taxi driver to come and collect you if you prefer. She charges €200 to bring you here from the airport. Bring some provisions with you as the nearest supermarket is in Feria.
